A Little Studio Update – Art, Autumn, Pokémon & Packing Happy Mail
One of my favourite things about running my little creative business is that no two days are ever the same.
At the moment, the studio is filled with works in progress. My desk is covered in paint, sketches and colour swatches as I create a brand-new collection of artwork. I've been leaning into bright, colourful floral designs that are full of joy and vibrant summer colours, alongside something completely different – cosy autumn-inspired Highland cows in rich browns, warm ochres and earthy tones. It's been lovely switching between the two styles, and I can't wait to share the finished pieces with you all.
Although it's a busy time in the studio, it's also the school summer holidays, which means I'm spending lots of time with my 8-year-old. We've both become a little obsessed with collecting Pokémon cards! While some collectors search for the rarest or most valuable cards, we often find ourselves drawn to the artwork instead. We love opening a pack together and discovering beautifully illustrated cards, especially the full-art designs that feel like tiny works of art. It's become one of our favourite ways to spend an afternoon together.
Back in the studio, I'm also busy packing this month's Art Mail Club and Book Mail Club subscriptions. Every package is carefully put together with artwork, stationery and little surprises, and it's always such a lovely feeling seeing them head off to homes around the country. Knowing that someone will receive a little piece of happy post through their letterbox never gets old.
Alongside creating and packing, I've also been spending time updating my Etsy shop with new fantasy art prints, original artwork and bookish gifts. Running a small creative business means wearing lots of different hats – artist, photographer, packer, customer service, product writer and social media manager – but I genuinely love every part of the process.
The quieter moments in the studio often inspire the next collection, so don't be surprised if a little Pokémon-inspired colour palette or an autumn countryside walk finds its way into future artwork!
Thank you so much for supporting my small business, whether you've purchased a print, joined one of the monthly clubs, or simply followed along with my creative journey. Every order, comment and share helps me continue doing what I love.
I'm looking forward to sharing all of these new collections with you very soon, so keep an eye on the website and Etsy shop over the coming weeks. There are lots of colourful florals, cosy autumn designs and plenty more bookish artwork on the way.
