A Sneak Peek at August's Art Club – Introducing Sunlit Blooms
There’s something incredibly special about sharing original artwork through my monthly Art Club, and I’m so excited to finally reveal the inspiration behind August's featured print.
This month, I wanted to create something that felt like the very heart of summer—warm afternoons, wild gardens, golden sunshine and the quiet feeling of slowing down. The result is this expressive sunflower painting, filled with loose brushstrokes, rich textures and a soft pastel colour palette that captures light in a way I absolutely fell in love with while painting it.
Unlike some of my more detailed fantasy pieces, this artwork embraces a freer, more painterly style. Layers of buttery yellows, turquoise blues, fresh greens and delicate pinks blend together to create a bouquet that feels vibrant, joyful and full of movement. I wanted it to feel as though the flowers had been gathered straight from a summer garden and placed on the canvas before the sun had begun to set.
August's Exclusive Art Club Print
This painting has been created especially as the inspiration for August's Art Club print. Every month I love sending something completely new to club members, and I think this piece perfectly captures the bright, uplifting feeling I wanted for this month's theme.

The Beginning of a New Collection?
As I was painting these sunflowers, I couldn't help imagining how beautiful they would look alongside other floral paintings in the same expressive style.
So... this may only be the beginning.
I'm already sketching ideas for a matching collection, featuring more seasonal blooms and richly coloured botanical paintings that can be displayed together as a series. Think cottage gardens, wildflowers, soft pastel skies and vibrant brushstrokes that complement one another beautifully on a gallery wall.
If all goes to plan, this sunflower painting will become the first piece in a brand new floral collection.
