Could Fairies Be Coming to September’s Book Mail Club? 🧚🍄
I know we’re only just enjoying August’s Summerween Book Mail Club, but naturally my brain is already wandering towards September… and at the moment, it seems to have wandered straight into an enchanted little woodland.
Recently I came across some beautiful vintage fairy illustrations, filled with tiny winged characters, oversized leaves, woodland homes and that wonderfully nostalgic storybook feeling. I absolutely loved the colours and delicate ink details, so I started creating some fairy illustrations of my own inspired by that magical vintage aesthetic.
And now I’m wondering… could these become the inspiration for September’s Book Mail Club?
A Little Vintage Fairy Magic
I’ve been working on a small collection of whimsical fairy artwork, including a fairy perched amongst giant green leaves and another sitting on a classic red and white spotted toadstool.
I wanted them to feel as though they could have been discovered inside an old forgotten children’s book — slightly imperfect, softly painted and full of woodland charm.
There’s something about fairies, mushrooms, old books and enchanted forests that feels absolutely perfect for that transition from summer into early autumn too. 🍂
For September, I’m imagining a theme filled with:
Vintage storybook fairies
Toadstools and mushrooms
Woodland leaves and tiny flowers
Enchanted forests
Old fairy-tale books
Little magical objects and curiosities
Soft greens, rusty oranges, faded blues and warm vintage tones
Basically, something that feels like you've stepped inside an old illustrated fairy book.
September's Book Mail Club?
These new illustrations could become the main artwork for September's envelope, but I've already got lots of ideas for everything that could accompany them.
Perhaps a fairy-themed A5 art print, a matching bookmark, tiny fairy stickers, vintage-style ephemera and a little piece of fairy folklore tucked inside the letter.
I also love the idea of September's book recommendations having an enchanted woodland / fairy-tale feel, with fantasy books that feature mysterious forests, fae, folklore and strange magical worlds.
There may even need to be another little quiz…
Which Woodland Fairy Are You? 🧚
Because obviously I need to know.
From Summerween to the Enchanted Woods
August has been bright, floral and spooky with the Summerween theme, so moving into something softer, earthier and more woodland-inspired for September feels like a lovely progression.
I'm picturing opening the envelope and finding something that feels like a collection of treasures gathered from an old fairy-tale book — artwork, paper pieces, bookish goodies and little surprises to keep or use in your journal.
Nothing is completely decided yet, but these fairies are becoming a very strong contender for September's Book Mail Club theme.
What do you think?
