October Art Mail Club Inspiration πŸ„πŸ‚

Sometimes the best ideas come when you’re not really looking for them.

I’ve just been for a lovely walk over Nicky Nook in Scorton, and with autumn beginning to creep in, the woodland was absolutely full of inspiration. Along the way I spotted some amazing mushrooms and toadstools growing amongst the leaves, moss and woodland floor β€” so of course, I had to stop and photograph them!

There were so many beautiful little shapes, colours and textures that I immediately started thinking about artwork.

And I think I may have found the theme for October’s Art Mail Club… πŸ„

I’m imagining a wonderfully autumnal collection inspired by woodland mushrooms, magical toadstools, moss, fallen leaves and those tiny hidden treasures you find on an autumn walk. I’d love to use some of the photographs I took today as inspiration for the main October artwork and the little extras that go into the mail club too.

It feels like the perfect theme for October β€” cosy, slightly magical and full of those rich woodland details I love painting.

I’ll be sharing little peeks as I start creating it, but for now I’m heading back to my sketchbook with lots of mushroom photographs and ideas!

October Art Mail Club is officially beginning… πŸ„πŸŒΏπŸ‚
